Apple's Network Toolkit Eases Maintenance

The new Apple Network Administrator Toolkit (ANAT) 2.0 has been enhanced with many features requested by educators. It now offers support for TCP/IP, AppleShare IP 5.0 and Appleís eMate.

ANAT 2.0 lets network administrators create secure access setups, manage user lists on the server, update software, restore hard disk configurations, and provide direct assistance to users over the network. The Toolkit consists of three bundled applications. Apple Network Assistant 3.0 makes it easy for educators to manage computer labs by adding TCP/IP support and screen-sharing abilities. At Ease for Workgroups 5.0 lets students work from home over the Internet, and now supports the eMate. It also lets network administrators control access to applications and workgroup resources, and will preserve student attributes, such as personal bookmarks and configuration settings.

And, finally, Apple User and Group Manager 1.1 simplifies import and export of users and group lists between the new AppleShare IP 5.0, At Ease for Workgroups and First Class services.
