In Memory of Edward Warnshuis

This editorial is the most difficult for me to write in all the years that I have had the privilege and honor to be editor-in-chief of T.H.E. Journal. It is to announce the death of our publisher, and my good friend and colleague, Edward Warnshuis on October 25, 1997. It was he who recognized -- right from the outset 25 years ago -- the role that technology was to play, and is playing, in the educational process. As a true visionary, Ed was an inspiration to so many of us, and a guide and mentor to all who were fortunate to have come in contact with him.

Ed gave unstintingly of his time and energy to pursue his life-long goal of assisting educators and education. I shall miss his wisdom, friendship and general good nature, as I am sure so shall many of you. The family has initiated -- in his name -- an educational foundation for needy children. If you wish to contribute to this endeavor, please call T.H.E. at (714) 730-4011.
