Students Weave Web Authoring Dreams at Wake Forest

Macromedia's Dreamweaver has recently been chosen as Wake Forest University's (WFU) campus-wide Web authoring software. Recognized as one of the nation's best private, liberal arts universities, WFU (Winston-Salem, North Carolina) will be offering IBM ThinkPads installed with Dreamweaver to all students, faculty and staff.

"Wake Forest is a national model for integrating computer technology into a liberal arts education, and Web page authoring is a fundamental part of today's education process," said Jay Dominick, assistant vice president for information systems at WFU. "Dreamweaver will give our students that added edge in tomorrow's job market, while proving the most powerful, easy-to-use and intuitive Web authoring solution available today."

Macromedia will provide training for faculty and staff so Dreamweaver can be easily implemented in classrooms. Based on Macromedia's Web Design 101 kit, the training will include six hours of hands-on course curriculum for each of Macromedia's Web design tools - Dreamweaver, Flash, FreeHand and Fireworks. "Macromedia is very committed to educators and to the success of Web designers honing their skills on college and university campuses," said Bob LaFrance, Macromedia's director of channel sales.
