Hands-On - Canon U.S.A., Inc.

Students at Seattle University have become used to a learning environment that takes advantage of the best in high tech teaching tools. With that in mind, the interactive media service staff at the University selected Canon's DZ-3600 Digital Imaging System to enhance the quality of classroom and lecture hall presentations.

'By looking ahead to digital photography, we're reducing dependency on slide projectors, transparencies and unnecessary photocopying,' says George Shearer, director of Instructional Media services at Seattle University.

In search of a system that would improve the displaying of detailed images to 100-plus-person lecture halls, Shearer found the Canon system had the image quality needed to improve visuals. This digital imaging system allows the user to enhance presentations and videoconferencing by capturing an entire 81/2' x 11' document at once, legible to 8 pt. type, as well as capturing fine details from charts, books, 3-D objects and more. In addition, the DZ-3600U features high-speed image capture, allowing the user to quickly and conveniently integrate critical material into any presentation.
