The ScanMark 5500 Optical Mark Reader from Scantron can process up to 5,500 forms per hour. Standard dual readheads process both sides of a form simultaneously. An automatic document feeder supports up to 1,000 forms. It features high output capabilities that include three software-controlled hoppers and a streamlined hardware design.

The two primary hoppers provide a capacity of up to 500 forms each and alternate automatically when full. The reject hopper can accommodate up to 100 incorrectly marked or incomplete forms without interfering in the scanning process. An optional interactive printer can print messages, test scores, or serial numbers for instant form identification. Versatility is enhanced by offering ink and bar code reading capabilities.
