Archive Provides Access to Historical Multimedia

AccuNet/AP Multimedia Archive is an historical resource for educators and library personnel, and features photos, audio files, news stories and graphics from The Associated Press. Access to the archive is available by subscription to grade schools, colleges and universities and public libraries. Available to educational facilities to use as learning tools, each multimedia archive requires a separate per-user yearly subscription, with single seat licenses to unlimited site licenses available.

The newest additions are the audio, text and graphics archives, which join the popular photo archive that has pictures dating back to 1848. The audio archive, which will become available later this year, includes broadcasts dating back to some of the earliest applications of radio as a practical news tool in the 1920s. The text archive includes AP national news reports of the last four years. The graphics archive features news illustrations gathered since 1999.
