IBM Scholars Program Targets Higher Ed

IBM has launched its Scholars Program, a comprehensive, worldwide program available for free to the global higher education community, including accredited colleges, universities and technical schools. The program, located at www.ibm.com/university/scholarsprogram, gives participants access to free software and discounts on hardware, course materials and information on IBM's university-related initiatives.

The IBM Scholars Program is intended to help address an ongoing skills shortage in the IT industry. Through the IBM Scholars Program, educators and students can access a wide range of IBM programs and offerings for teaching, learning and research. For example, the program offers IBM software that teachers can distribute to students for class assignments, lab work and research projects. Schools can also lease or purchase hardware through various discount programs. IBM, Armonk, NY, (800) 426-4968, www.ibm.com.
