English Development Program Utilizes LeapPad

LeapFrog SchoolHouse's Leap Into Language series is a multisensory English language development program that uses the LeapPad electronic learning tool. The new reading program helps develop oral language skills in English for K-2 students, ESL students and special education students.

The curriculum units teach early language skills, organized around nine universal themes, making it easy to integrate into any classroom. The series' four learning levels are designed to move students from simple to complex language structures. Audio support from the LeapPad platform provides for repetition with immediate and corrective feedback. Language patterns and structures are integrated with everyday vocabulary to help students move quickly to language fluency.

The program comes with four leveled books for each of the nine themes and 36 new LeapPad books in total. Each theme includes a teacher's manual with instruction focused on four key language acquisition levels, a range of activities for each level and lessons for one month of instruction. A Classroom Resource Package includes a placement guide, blackline masters for each level, whole group and learning center activities, as well as assessment suggestions for each language level.
