T.H.E., ISTE Announce 2005 Charp Award

T.H.E. Journal and the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) are proud to announce that Kiel Area School District of Kiel, WI, is the recipient of the 2005 Sylvia Charp Award for District Innovation in Technology. Particularly noteworthy in Kiel’s innovative approaches to integrating technology is the district’s strong, targeted professional development program; its required electronic portfolios for students; and its online charter school, the K.I.E.L. Charter School, which serves students from other districts across the state and boasts a completion rate of better than 90 percent. The Charp award will be presented to representatives from the Kiel Area School District at this month’s National Educational Computing Conference in Philadelphia.
