Partnership for 21st Century Skills Debuts '21st Century Skills and English Map'

The Partnership for 21st Century Skills has joined up with the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) to produce the "21st Century Skills and English Map" a framework for integrating 21st century skills into the K-12 English curriculum.

Arizona District Revamps Financial Management System

Tyler Technologies has recently signed a contract with Peoria Unified School District in Arizona to implement its financial management solution. The contract--worth more than $1 million--includes licensing, professional services, and ongoing maintenance and support.

Survey Finds Basic Cyber Security Education Absent

Only 25 percent of educators feel comfortable teaching students how to protect themselves from online cyber predators, cyber bullies, and identity theft, according to a recent study by The National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA) and Educational Technology, Policy Research and Outreach (ETPRO).

California District Implements Web-based File Storage

Ramona Unified School District (RUSD) in Southern California has recently selected School Web Lockers to provide Web-based file storage for the district's roughly 7,000 students. The implementation is aimed at accommodating RUSD's growing storage needs, while minimizing their infrastructure and human resource investment.

20,000 K-12 Schools Adopt Free Web Security Tool

Schools across the United States have been turning in increasing numbers to free and open source solutions, including solutions in the category of Web security. According to DNS provider OpenDNS, more than 20,000 schools and districts so far have adopted its free Internet security service designed for filtering Internet content for students and staff.
