Infinite Campus Integrates Emergency Notification with SIS

##AUTHORSPLIT##<--->

Infinite Campus has announced a new version of its student information system, District Edition 2009.2, which integrates emergency notification. Powered by ShoutPoint, a third-party voice-over-IP service, Campus Messenger with Voice leverages system data that already exists in District Edition to distribute large volume calls. This integration circumvents the problem of version control that can crop up between the emergency contact information maintained by a school and the information filed with an external emergency notification service.

"It is important that our customers have the ability to quickly communicate information to parents and guardians, especially during an emergency," said Charlie Kratsch, CEO of Infinite Campus. "With this new solution, our customers will be able to distribute urgent messages, as well as normal daily voicemail communications without hardware and long distance fees."

ShoutPoint technology provides high-volume call routing through call centers located across the United States via voice-over-IP. This service provides dedicated ports and allows Infinite Campus customers the ability to prioritize emergency traffic when needed.

Campus Messenger with Voice 2009.2 is currently in pilot testing and is scheduled for release in March 2009. The company said ShoutPoint telephony service may be eligible for federal E-rate funding.
