The goal of the NEA Academy and its online program is to provide affordable tools for its members to improve and enhance both their teaching skills and student development, explains Mark Stevens, vice president of professional & Web solutions for NEA Member Benefits.

NEA Academy Associate Director Tom Blanford noted that a review board assesses each online course to ensure it meets NEA standards for ongoing professional development.

The academy also report that it hopes the collaboration with Warminster, PA-based Educational Impact will give NEA members the opportunity to strengthen classroom and instructional practices.
