PA School District Adopts Teo for 911 Location Features

The Bedford Area School District in Pennsylvania has adopted Teo's E911 emergency management software to provide real-time information and communication for 911 events. The school district purchased the software from reseller FiberCom. The school district, which has four IP phone systems, said it wanted to enhance its existing 911 notification functions with location-aware features.

"Emergency safety is a top priority for us. Since implementing the E911 solution earlier this year, we've been very pleased with Teo's technology," said Glenn Burket, technology coordinator. "The solution has already helped provide real-time notification at sporting events. This enables us to properly notify, communicate [to], and protect our students and staff--all at an affordable price."

E911 provides the exact location of the caller and automatically notifies staff of emergency events via screen pops and e-mails sent to PCs and text messages sent to pagers, mobile phones, and call-alerting displays.
