BenQ To Launch Energy-Efficient Projector

BenQ will release the MX850UST, an energy-efficient DLP projector with a contrast ratio of 13,000:1, this August.

The MX850UST uses BenQ's Smart Eco Mode technology to save "up to 50 percent more energy than other systems" and extend lamp life, according to information released by the company.

Projectors with the new technology automatically calculate the lamp power needed for the best contrast performance, and also feature a save mode that dims the screen's brightness by 70 percent while maintaining the image's visibility.

The 3D-ready projector features a brightness of 2,500 lumens, a native resolution of 1,024 x 768, a 0.45 throw ratio, a 3,500 to 5,000 hour lamp life, a 10-watt speaker, and a microphone input.

The MX850UST also provides support for BenQ's new 4-foot by 12-foot interactive digital whiteboard.

The new whiteboard can integrate up to three projectors in one display that is controllable from a single desktop.

Both products will be demonstrated at the International Society for Technology in Education 2011 conference at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia, PA, June 26-29 .
