Partnership Provides Energy Benchmarking Software to Ohio Schools

An Ohio organization focused on cutting electricity costs for school districts in the state has partnered with a company that develops software-as-a-service applications to manage facilities, maintenance, and technology.

The 250 member schools of Power4Schools, which was formed in April 2011 and consists of The Ohio Association of School Business Officials, Ohio School Boards Association, Buckeye Association of School Administrators, and Ohio Schools Council, will receive energy benchmarking and conservation software from SchoolDude. According to a news release, participating schools are saving more than $12 million each year on electricity costs.

SchoolDude offers a variety of SaaS options that control business, facilities, and information technology operations.

Features included for Power4Schools members include:

  • Tools to monitor and compare utility costs and energy consumption for facilities in the same district and other districts;
  • Online software that analyses and provides reports on utility consumption and costs; and
  • Tools to track greenhouse gases, utility use, and Energy Star ratings.
