Sublette County SD Adopts Integrated Business Software To Cut Costs

To cut costs and streamline its  financial and human resources activities, Sublette County School District #1, based in Pinedale, WY, will implement a software package that will consolidate operations into a single database.

For the project, the school district selected the Skyward School Business suite, a finance and human resource software package designed to help manage annual budgets, employee payroll, and purchasing. Each module in the fully integrated suite reflects data changed in one area throughout the system.

The budget management module will allow the district to forecast, plan, and enter their budget, keep detailed information from previous budgets, and store unlimited budget forecasts. All required state reports are also built directly into the system.

The system's payroll software, which places employee information into one central location, provides employees with online access to their own payroll, vacation, W2, and check history information. It also integrates with the general ledger and allows users to track employee contracts.

The purchasing module streamlines the purchasing process by allowing users to enter and approve requisitions electronically. Other features include built-in budget restriction tools and integration with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and the general ledger. It also includes cost saving purchase cards, which interface directly with online vendors.

The system will be fully operational by January 2014.

Sublette County School District #1, which serves the communities of Pinedale, Bondurant, Boulder, Cora, and Daniel, enrolls approximately 1,000 students at one high school, one middle school, and two elementary schools. The district's operating budget for 2012-2013 is approximately $3.1 million.
