Virtual School Consortium Adopts E-Learning Platform To Improve Content Sharing

The Virtual School Leadership Alliance (VSLA) has selected a new e-learning platform to share content more efficiently and too collaborate more effectively on the creation of content in the future.

"A consortium of thirteen district, state, and national K12 virtual schools who work collaboratively on curriculum development and advocacy for online education," VSLA chose Private SoftChalk Cloud for its "ability to create and share content among institutions using different learning management systems," according to a SoftChalk news release. Previously, the alliance was hosting SoftChalk content on four different learning management systems, which hindered sharing and collaboration.

"Our goal for the future is to maintain sustainable growth in content development, so Private SoftChalk Cloud seemed like the best tool," says Jason Neiffer, curriculum director at Montana Digital Academy, one of the founding schools of VSLA.

Initially, the content authoring platform and repository will host learning objects from Idaho Digital Learning Academy, Illinois Virtual School, Indiana Online Academy, Michigan Virtual University and Montana Digital Academy. Other VSLA institutions may participate in the future.

More information about Private SoftChalk Cloud is available at softchalk.com.
