New PLC Focuses on Creating Better Lessons With Technology

edWeb is partnering with ClassFlow, a cloud-based lesson planning platform, on a new professional learning community (PLC) to help educators use technology to change their teaching and learning.

Reinventing the Classroom, as the new PLC is known, will host free webinars and online discussions for educators, as well as an archive space, quizzes, and support materials. In part, the community will focus on creating and delivering more engaging, personalized lessons to students using technology.

In April, Joe Dale, an independent languages consultant, presented the community's first webinar on "Creating Lessons through the SAMR Model." The model can be used to help educators integrate technology into teaching and learning. A second webinar, by Tom Whitby, is also archived on the site. The community has already scheduled education expert Jerry Blumengarten, host of Cybraryman.com, for an upcoming presentation.

"The educators in our network are the leaders in adopting technology in their schools and districts and can help increase the adoption of innovative ideas like ClassFlow," said edWeb founder and CEO Lisa Schmucki in a statement. "We are always delighted to help spread the word on great solutions to improve learning."
