Skyward Unveils New Mobile App

Skyward, which supplies administrative software to school districts, has introduced four significant improvements to its mobile app.

With the release of the new app, which coincided with the International Society for Technology in Education conference, all district clients now have access to the new mobile app.

The app has enhanced menu navigation, which allows users to customize with favorites, features the user frequently uses. They also now have the option of viewing widgets on the app's home screen, providing snapshots of information like recent notifications, an employee’s time clock or a student’s grades.

Users now can receive push notifications of information that becomes available to them, such as scored grade book assignments, vacation requests and lunch account balances. For users with iOS devices, they can log onto the mobile app with the touch of a finger, an alternative to entering the traditional four-digit passcode.

The new Skyward mobile app, which is now out of beta testing, can be downloaded and accessed on all major mobile platforms like Android, iOS and Windows Mobile.

"Feedback from the mobile app's beta users was taken into account during the development of the new framework, design and enhancements," said Skyward Chief Marketing Officer Ray Ackerlund. "While we carried over functionality from the previous app, the redesigned app has a more appealing, user-friendly interface, which provided the flexibility to add these new features that will better meet our users' needs."
