Parent-Teacher Communication App Adds Student Reports and Portfolios

Bloomz, a free app that facilitates communication between teachers and parents, has added two new features that allows teachers to share student reports with parents. The features are part of the app’s Student Timeline, a central feed that shows parents at a glance how students are progressing in the classroom.

Behavior Management is a new feature that enables teachers to share student conduct reports with parents in real time. “Behavior Management was created with the intention of reinforcing positive behavior,” according to the company’s blog post announcement. Teachers can provide individual reinforcement in the form of goals and awards, or set class-wide goals with incentives like class pizza parties. Furthermore, in keeping with the app’s name, each student has a virtual flower display that animates and grows with every five points earned.

The Student Portfolio feature allows teachers to send progress reports of student work. Teachers can annotate pictures, write notes and even include audio to provide parents more context.

Bloomz is available on Apple and Android devices. Further information about the new features is available on the Bloomz blog.
