Canvas Integrates With Google to Enable Single Sign-On, Streamline Workflow

Students and teachers using Canvas, a learning management system (LMS) from Instructure, will no longer have to switch tabs and log in separately to use their Google Drive. The company today announced a new integration with Google that enables single sign-on and merges the capabilities of Google Drive and the LMS platform.

Additionally, users can now easily embed Google Docs anywhere in the Canvas rich content editor. Beyond that, the integration allows teachers to use Google Docs for class assignments and use Canvas’s Speedgrader to annotate and evaluate students’ work.

Students can submit assignments in Google Docs, and they can use Google Docs, Sheets or Slides while participating in a Canvas collaboration in real time.

Further information is available on the Canvas site.
