Performance Matters Adds Training Resource to Classroom Observation Tool

Performance Matters recently revealed plans to roll out a training module for its Calibration tool for educator professional development.

Calibration was built in partnership with Teaching and Learning Solutions to help ensure educators are assessed fairly during the evaluation process. The tool uses a system of embedded accuracy measures for conducting classroom observations, collecting evidence and sharing feedback.

According to a company statement, districts are using Calibration to:

  • Measure observer accuracy;
  • Improve inter-rater reliability; and
  • Create consistency and fairness in educator evaluations.

With the upcoming training module, scheduled to be released in June, program participants will be able access courses “designed to teach observers how to conduct evidence-based observations and conversations to promote continuous growth.”
