Vector Solutions Offers 100+ ‘Inclusive Instruction & Interventions’ Courses

Recognizing that the COVID-19 pandemic has left many students with mental and emotional traumas creating challenges to their learning, information technology company Vector Solutions has launched “Inclusive Instruction & Interventions” courses to help educators who feel unprepared for how best to help their students.

The courses can also inform school districts about new state mandates for professional development related to trauma-related teaching practices and improve compliance with laws related to educating students with disabilities. Courses can be tailored to meet individual district and state needs.

The company’s online professional development library has over 100 courses designed to help teachers better support various types of learners and deal with rising behavioral problems in both students with special needs and those affected mentally and emotionally by the pandemic.

The courses come in three bundles:

  • Serving Students with Diverse Needs: for special education and general education staff, on topics including ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, dyslexia, special education law;

  • Paraeducators: roles and responsibilities, behavior management, early childhood;

  • Effective Classroom Instruction: trauma-informed practices, managing challenging behaviors, differentiating instruction.

The courses use “realistic scenarios that demonstrate how to apply evidence-based instructional strategies and interventions,” the company said in its release.

“Educators across the country are supporting an increasingly diverse student population with a wide range of learning needs, while still working to recover from the impacts of the pandemic,” said Rob Buelow, head of product for education at Vector Solutions. “Yet many educators and staff members feel they aren’t getting the solid foundation needed to adequately address challenges like disruptive behavior, student trauma, and specific disabilities.” He said the company’s courses target such challenges.

The SaaS courses can be accessed from any device with an internet connection, and administrators can manage and track participation and completion.
