Its fanless operation will appeal to educators, ensuring a quiet performance, durability (since the only moving part is the hard drive), and little energy expenditure. As opposed to a typical PC, which uses 75 to 125 watts per hour while on, the Rugged Mini uses only 37 watts per hour at 100 percent utilization. The Mini weighs less than 4 pounds.
