Windows Tool Simplifies E-Book Publishing

The EbooksWriter from Visual Vision Software is a new all-in-one Windows tool for creating e-books. EbooksWriter converts a manuscript from a Word document into a self-extracting EXE file that's ready for royalty-free distribution on the Web, either on a CD-ROM or as a downloadable file. No compilation or coding is needed, and the entire process uses a visual interface. Each created e-book includes a built-in browser with keyword, full-text and Boolean search capabilities.

Because of its similarity to a word processor, the user interface is easy to learn and use, from setting up a document, to managing tables and text styles. Beginners can start to compile an e-book immediately, then move onto more advanced features, such as frames, pop-up windows, mouse-over sensible images, visual linking and image maps. EbooksWriter also includes an anti-theft feature that allows users to prohibit the printing or copying of e-books. Users can use passwords to protect all or part of the e-book, assign different passwords for different users, and set up expiration dates. There is no extra charge for these security features. In addition, Visual Vision Software is offering a free "lite" version of EbooksWriter through its Web site. This version supports up to 40 pages.
