Kramer Launches Auto Standby Switcher for AV Equipment

Kramer Electronics has announced the VS-211HDXL, a 2 x 1:2 3G HD-SDI automatic standby switcher that automatically switches to a secondary input when the primary input is lost. In addition, this unit automatically switches from the secondary input when a primary signal is detected. The primary input is selectable.

The new HDTV-compatible switcher is specified at 3 Gbps max data rate. It accommodates multi-standard operation: SDI (SMPTE 259M/344M), HD-SDI (SMPTE 292M), and 3G HD-SDI (SMPTE 424M).

The VS-211HDXL has active input LED indicators. Control can be handled via contact closure or automatic switching. The compact unit (4.7" x 2.8" x 1.0") can be rack-mounted side by side in a 1U rack space with the optional RK-3TR rack adapter.
