Gale Updates Kids InfoBits Database
Gale has updated its Kids InfoBits database with an improved interface and navigation, updated content and new tools.
Designed for students in grades K-5, InfoBits "provides access to reference content, magazines, newspapers, maps, charts, graphs and more than 13,000 searchable images," according to a news release.
The new content includes resources on weather, natural disasters and American states, material from Blackbirch Kid's Visual Reference of the United States and others. Tools new to this version include content sharing via social media, improved citation tools, the ability to translate tools into 12 languages and text-to-speech functionality.
"Gale is committed to transforming learning with tailored research solutions that accelerate student engagement," said Jim Draper, vice president and general manager at Gale, in a prepared statement. "With this relaunch of Kids InfoBits, we've put the user at the center of the product, incorporating student and teacher feedback throughout the design process. The result is a state-of-the-art product that enhances learning."
