From Tangent Computer, the Roll-along Notebook Lab is a mobile, wireless notebook lab designed specifically for education. Consisting of a mobile cart, networking equipment, and up to 36 notebook computers, the mobile cart acts as a networking station and Internet access point that also securely stores and recharges up to 36 notebook computers overnight. A wireless interface card is used to connect the notebooks to the school network and the Internet.     With a digital video projector, the Notebook Lab can also be used as an AV cart and projection system. Two other products from Tangent, the InFocus LP400 and the LP425z, are designed for projection with the Notebook Lab.

The device’s built-in support for wireless networking uses radio waves in the 2.4 GHz range. The wireless cards act as both transmitters and receivers, allowing for point-to-point communications. Throughput is up to 11 Mbps at distances to 300 feet. The Notebook Lab can be configured for various class sizes or lab settings.
