The new ScanMaker V6USL from Microtek Labincorporates the convenience of USB and the high speed of a SCSI interfacewithin the same unit. This scanner offers true 1,200 x 600 dpi opticalresolution and full in-and-out 42-bit color for smooth tonal values. Theproprietary LightLid 35 is bundled with the V6USL, which is capable of scanningphotos, film transparencies and 35mm slides quickly and easily. The unit alsooffers letter and legal size document scanning capabilities, and the FlexScanlid allows users to scan books and other large publications. In addition, thescanner offers a smart sleep mode which automatically turns itself on and off.

The ScanMaker V6USL is highlighted by ScanWizard 5, whichautomatically determines photo or document size, and adjusts color, brightnessand contrast. Users can even switch to other applications with one click on theScanWizard 5 control panel. Equipped with built-in access to scan, e-mail andcopy functions, the ScanWizard can automatically transfer images to printer,e-mail, Web browser or image editing software. Advanced features include batchscanning of multiple images for maximum productivity, correction tools,real-time preview for transformations and adjustments, an onscreen densitometerand a dropper tool for gamma correction.
