Late Breaks...The National Science Foundation

The National Science Foundation has awarded Biological Sciences Curriculum Study, a nonprofit science curricula organization, with a $1.2 million grant for a 24-month project to develop a high school curriculum replacement unit, including two teaching CD-ROMs about the nature of science and biological evolution. Based on concepts from the National Science Education Standards, the unit will be designed to enhance students' understanding of biological evolution and the nature of science, and to develop scientific inquiry abilities.
