Apple's new iMac

Apple's new iMac models feature faster speeds and a host of pre-installed software to meet the computer needs of students and instructors. The updated line features Apple's next-generation Mac OS X operating system, fast PowerPC G3 processors running up to 700 MHz, larger hard drives up to 60 GB and memory up to 256 MB. The added power helps speed through pre-installed audio and video software, including iTunes, which users can use to import songs from favorite CDs and compress them into popular MP3 files. iTunes helps users organize their music and quickly create custom music CDs with Apple's slot-loading CD-RW drives, also included. The added memory and hard drive capacity allows users to store more movies with iMovie digital video editing software. Movies can be saved back to the camcorder, copied to videotape or posted to a user's own Web site using iTools, Apple's suite of free Internet Services.
