Pocket PC e570

The Pocket PC e570 from Toshiba gives users several options for wireless use. It comes standard with two built-in expansion slots - a Secure Digital (SD) and a CompactFlash Type II (CF-II) - providing extensive data storage and flexibility. By adding a Bluetooth card, users can connect wirelessly to Bluetooth devices such as notebooks, mobile phones and printers. Users can also connect to office-based networks through CF-II Wi-Fi. The infrared sensor provides yet another way to exchange data wirelessly between a mobile phone, notebook or another Palm-based PDA.

The e570 is powered by an Intel StrongARM 206 MHz processor, and comes with 64 MB of SDRAM and 32 MB of CMOS Flash ROM. It can store and play MP3 audio files through a built-in, hi-fi stereo headphone jack, and play video clips or movies in MPEG4 (WMV/WMT) format. In addition, students or educators who want to store quick notes can talk directly into the built-in microphone for a digital voice recording. The e570 measures 3" x 4.9" x 0.7" and weighs 6.3 oz. The color screen measures 3.5", supports 64K colors, and features reflective TFT technology with a 240 x 320 resolution. An adjustable backlight also makes it easy to see the screen both indoors and outdoors. Toshiba America Consumer Products Inc., Wayne, NJ, (888) 874-8247, www.pda.toshiba.com.
