FirstClass Unified Communications v6.2

Centrinity's FirstClass Unified Communications v6.2 provides users with one mailbox where they can access voice mail, e-mail and fax messages from anywhere with the device of their choice. The system's text-to-voice capabilities enable users to listen and reply to, as well as forward e-mail messages over the telephone. The new features of v6.2 include Education Post Office, which enables administrators to get the system up and running quickly after a new site installation and add educators through the post office.

The program also offers FirstClass Connector for Microsoft Exchange Server, which provides real-time, seamless interoperability with Exchange 5.5 directory synchronization, calendar synchronization through meeting request/response messages, and messaging reports. Another component of the software is FirstClass Migrator for Microsoft Exchange Server, which can import all of the accounts, public folders and distribution lists from Exchange 5.5 to FirstClass. Migrator for Microsoft Outlook is a client utility for importing one of several Personal Messaging Stores and the user's mailbox into a user's FirstClass account.

The new version also lets educators access their messages with Palm-compatible devices. In addition, the program's personal preferences have been expanded to allow extra scheduling and calendaring functionality. Centrinity, Richmond Hill, Ontario, (905) 762-6000, www.centrinity.com.
