Ringling Bros. Launches Online Education Center

Teachers can print and download activities that reinforce classroom lessons at Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey’s CIRCUSWORKS Education Center, online at www.ringling.com/activity/education. The new online Education Center is easy for educators to use and makes learning more fun for students in prekindergarten through fourth grade. The Education Center offers three free online educational lesson units and two special divisions:

  • The “Language Arts” unit consists of language lessons such as creative writing and role-playing.

  • The “Diversity and Geography” unit provides lessons centered on circus performers who hail from around the world.
  • The “Animals and Their Care” unit teaches students about the mix of animals in the circus and how they are cared for as they travel from city to city.
  • The “All About the Circus” section offers a glossary of dozens of circus-related words so students can learn vocabulary words in a context they’ll enjoy.
  • The “Education Fun” section features downloadable activities, such as coloring pages and word searches, to stimulate and educate.
  • The curricula were developed in conjunction with Hot Topics, Bridges for Learning and a panel of 12 consulting teachers. Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey, Vienna, VA, (703) 448-4000, www.ringling.com.
