Franklin Electronics' Eleventh Edition Merriam-Webster Speaking Handheld Dictionary (www.franklin.com) provides quick access to more than 200,000 words. The handheld dictionary ($99) features "Phonetic Spell Correction" that allows users to enter a word as it sounds to obtain the correct spelling and definition. With the "Speak" button, users can hear the proper pronunciation of any word and its accompanying definition. The built-in thesaurus contains more than 500,000 synonyms, and the "Learn" function contains grammar guides, flashcards and a speaking spelling bee. In addition, the "Confusables" feature helps clarify differences between similarly spelled words. The handheld dictionary also features interactive word games and a Rolodex Organizer for names and phone numbers.
