Manteca Adopts Quest Password Manager

##AUTHORSPLIT##<--->

2/13/2007—-Manteca Unified School District in Northern California has implemented Password Manager from Quest Software to automate its password management. The system is designed to cut down on common problems with passwords that IT departments normally have to deal with.

According to Forrester Research, some 30 percent to 50 percent of calls to IT departments involve issues that result in password resets, often precipitated by users forgetting their passwords. Quest said that its Password Manager can automatically resolve about 25 percent of those calls.

In Manteca USD, Password Manager was installed to serve 1,800 employees across 30 sites. The users in this case were Windows-based.

"Password Manager efficiently addresses our help desk issues, without over complicating what we needed," said Sean Colt, director of IT at Manteca USD, in a prepared statement. "Quest's roadmap with Password Manager perfectly matches our direction toward Microsoft Vista. We look forward to continuing our partnership with Quest and expect to achieve full ROI from our Password Manager purchase in less than one year."

Manteca covers 14 schools in Manteca, Lathrop, French Camp and portions of Stockton, CA.
