Interwrite, TeacherTube Launch School Video Contest

##AUTHORSPLIT##<--->

Interwrite Learning, an interactive classroom technology provider, has partnered up with education portal TeacherTube to launch a new video contest for K-12 schools. The contest will award $15,000 worth of equipment to the winners for a classroom makeover, as well as $1,000 cash and a party for the schools the winners attend.

The contest asks students to create a music video parody that also demonstrates various technologies used in the classroom. (Participants don't need to be users of Interwrite technologies or TeacherTube.) There will be three winners, one in each of the following grade groupings: K-5, 6-8, and 9-12. Winners will receive the following:

  • Interwrite Board;
  • Interwrite Pad;
  • Interwrite Cricket;
  • Mitsubishi XD206 projector;
  • FrontRow Pro Digital sound system;
  • SP Controls Pixie wall-mounted modular control system;
  • A day of professional development from Brewer Technology and Learning;
  • $1,000 cash; and
  • A celebratory party for the entire school.

The contest is open to all teachers and students in the United States, New Zealand, and Australia. Submissions will be accepted from Sept. 11 through Oct. 21. Videos will be judged on "demonstration of effective use of technology, portrayal of teachers and students working together and the overall creativity and spirit." Videos must be submitted by a teacher. More information about the contest can be found below.
