Curriki Partners with Somatic for eTouchBook Suite

Curriki and Somatic Digital have confirmed a distribution partnership that will make educational materials hosted on the Curriki platform available with Somatic Digital's eTouchBook Suite.
According to the companies, the open-source K-12 curriculum materials that are made available to parents, students, and teachers via Curriki's online community will now be integrated into the Somatic Digital touch-screen platform, providing educators expanded options when creating interactive learning content. Using Curriki content, the eTouchBook platform can be used to link print and digital media, creating a touch-based learning experience, which the companies said can benefit both traditional and special-needs learners, including those with visual and hearing impairments.
"Educators can now customize the delivery of content from printed pages to their individual students," said Jason E. Barkeloo, founder and president of Somatic Digital, in a prepared statement. "With content from Curriki added to the eTouchBook, forward-leaning schools and educators have an easy-to-implement system to deliver educational materials and tutoring services."
Curriki currently hosts 17,000 learning assets, with projections topping 28,000 by the end of 2008.
