NetSupport School Expands Feature Set, Adds Vista and Windows Server 2008 Compatibility

NetSupport has recently announced the release of NetSupport School 10.01, adding a range of new features to the currently shipping version.

The updated connectivity server will provide Windows Server 2008 and Vista compatibility to schools utilizing wireless networks. The new version also provides enhanced Internet metering and control, including https support; individual page control (allowing for a site to blocked, but individual pages within it cleared for use); and the ability to monitor IM client dialogue, or block its use completely.

Other features include "student thumbnails," providing a zoomable snapshot view of all classroom computers; an enhanced whiteboard feature, providing an expanded toolset and simplified collaboration; and a new Teacher Toolbar, with a "Request Assistance" feature, providing instant chat with available technicians.
