Oklahoma District Takes to Web-based Data Collection

##AUTHORSPLIT##<--->

Jenks Public Schools in Oklahoma is implementing a Web-based data gathering system throughout the district to help with reporting on student performance on state tests, as well as district pre- and post-tests. The system will be used to help monitor student performance and report the information to teacher to help them focus on students' weak spots.

The district said it was looking for a system that would not require manual intervention from its IT staff but would "automatically consolidate data from a number of disparate systems quickly and easily utilizing the Schools Interoperability Framework (SIF) mandated by the state of Oklahoma." The system the district selected is based on the Mizuni Solution, including the Mizuni Data Warehouse, Mizuni Web Portals, Mizuni SIF Zone Integration Server, and Mizuni SIF Agent for Microsoft Active Directory.

"The Mizuni interface is more intuitive than the others," said Lisa Muller, assistant superintendent of curriculum and school improvement for JPS, in a statement released earlier this month. "The Mizuni Dashboard is user-friendly for our teachers. The benefit for students is that their teachers will get information on their performance much faster in a way that will help each teacher meet students' individual needs."

Jenks Public Schools serves about 10,000 students in nine schools, including one alternative center.
