GA District Partners To Develop New Math Curriculum

The Richmond County School System of Augusta, GA has announced it has with Carnegie Learning to develop a new middle school mathematics curriculum that emphasizes reasoning and real-world connections to math problems.

Encompassing textbooks, teacher materials, and professional development, the three-year curriculum aligns with Georgia Mathematics Performance Standards (GMPS) and supports a collaborative learning environment, encouraging students to solve problems both independently and through teamwork.

"Richmond County is using Carnegie Learning Math Programs at the high school level and we are seeing very strong results," said Dr. Dana Bedden, superintendent of Richmond County School System. "We believe this partnership with a math leader like Carnegie Learning will result in performance improvements in middle school that will, ultimately, create even greater success and change in our high schools."

The company had previously aided in development of curricula and published texts for the state's high schools mathematics programs, Georgia Mathematics 1 and 2.
