Levin To Take the Helm at SETDA

Douglas Levin will take the helm at the State Educational Technology Directors Association (SETDA), replacing Mary Ann Wolf as executive director.

SETDA is the association representing state directors of educational technology. It's focused largely on education technology advocacy and has taken an active role in promoting a number education technology issues at the national level. It also provides professional development and other services for members.

According to information released by SETDA, Levin, who will formally take over SETDA's leadership next month, has had an 18-year career in Washington, DC, "bridging the fields of education policy, research, and technology." He was most recently deputy executive director at the National Association of State Boards of Education (NASBE) and was previously senior director of education policy at the education foundation Cable in the Classroom.

"The SETDA Board of Directors is thrilled that Doug will be our Executive Director," said SETDA Board Chair Wayne Hartschuh in a statement released this week. "He brings a unique set of knowledge and experiences to SETDA," Hartschuh continued, "Doug's leadership will be invaluable to the SETDA membership and the broader education and public policy community as state-led educational technology innovations continue to drive real improvement and reform for all students."

Levin will commence his tenure at SETDA Nov. 16.
