Montgomery PS Donation To Improve IT Career Academy

Montgomery Public Schools, Montgomery Alabama, received a donation of IT equipment, valued at $65,000, to improve its Information Technology Career Academy.

The IT equipment was donated by Integrated Computer Solutions and included Cisco and Packeteer networking and security gear.

"We could not afford the human resources or the equipment that [ICS president Steve] Goldsby and ICS provided. We are very grateful for their donations and our ongoing partnership to prepare our students for the exciting field of information technology," said MPS Superintendent Barbara Thompson in a prepared statement.

Montgomery Public Schools has 31,743 students in 29 elementary schools, nine middle schools, four high schools, nine magnet schools, three special education centers, and one alternative school. The district operates nine career academies and offers more than 46 career technology courses.
