New Dimension Launches Hosted Streaming Service

New Dimension Media (NDM) is taking its streaming educational video service to the cloud. The service, CCC! Core Curriculum Content, previously required installation of a dedicated server, but through the new Internet-only version, K-12 schools can access all of the same programming without on-premises installation.

The CCC! video on demand service allows teachers to access programming from producers of educational and general content covering core and non-core subjects like math, science, art, English, music, dance, and social studies. Content is aligned to state standards (as well as Canadian standards) and includes more than 3,500 individual titles from companies ranging from PBS and the National Science Foundation to the Agency for Instructional Technology and NDM's parent company, Questar.

The new hosted service provides all of the same programming as the server-based version, according to NDM.

At least one large education organization--Washington-Saratoga-Warren-Hamilton-Essex BOCES--has signed on for the service for all of its constituent districts, according to the company. The board of cooperative educational services comprises 31 districts serving some 42,000 students across more than 2,600 square miles.

The hosted streaming media solution is available with "special Internet-only pricing," according to NDM. Further information, including sample content, can be found here.
