Shmoop Launches College Readiness Guide for Teachers

Education developer Shmoop has released a new guide designed to help teachers prepare their students for college. The release was announced at the FETC 2012 National Conference, held this week in Orlando, FL.

Shmoop is a provider of test prep solutions and curricular materials that use various forms of humor (including, but not limited to, sarcasm, sardonicism, satire, self/other deprecation, and bad puns) in an attempt to make studying more entertaining and engaging for students. "We want to show your brain a good time," as Shmoop described its approach.

The new college readiness guide is a collection of resources that covers topics found on common standardized tests that students will have to take. It also provides "a crash course on the five most common tests (SAT, PSAT, ACT, CAHSEE and ISEE), SAT Subject Tests, and AP Exams," Shmoop explained. Shmoop also provides a separate college guide, called College 101, that's available free for students and teachers.
