Samsung Kicks Off Fall 2012 Superhero History Video Contest

Samsung Techwin America is opening registration for its fall 2012 Superhero Video Competition this weekend.

The competition calls on students to create videos focused on historical characters. Videos are one to three minutes in length and can portray any figure from history. According to Samsung, videos will be judged based on the following criteria: "presentation performance, character and content accuracy, and content quality."


In the winning video from the spring competition, first-grader Tyler portrayed Antonie van Leeuwenhoek, the "father of microscopy"

Prizes for the winners of the quarterly competition include $500 for one winning student plus a SamCam 860 document camera (valued at $799) for the student's class.

The fall 2012 competition opens Sept. 1. The deadline for submissions in Nov. 30. Additional details, rules, examples of winning submissions, and forms will be available this weekend on the Samsung Superhero Video Competition portal. All submissions can be found on Samsung's Superhero channel on YouTube.
