Mobile E-rate Manager Adds Support for Android, Windows Phone, BlackBerry

Funds for Learning is adding a mobile version of its E-rate Manager service. The company this week released the update with support for iPhone, Android, Windows Phone, and BlackBerry users. It's available now.

E-rate is a program run by the Schools and Libraries Division of the Universal Service Administrative Company. It provides discounts to private and public schools and libraries for Internet and telecommunication services. Eligibility requirements include location and economic need.

The E-rate Manager service allows school districts and libraries to apply for E-rate funding and monitor its status. It is available in three packages: standard, premium, and professional. In January 2011, Funds for Learning unveiled an iPhone app, but the new mobile version allows users to receive funding updates from a variety of mobile devices.

Features of E-rate Manager include:

  • Funding commitment manager;
  • USAC checkbook and form status;
  • Compliance support tools;
  • Form preparation and submission
  • Auto-tracking;
  • Document archive;
  • Advanced reports and information;
  • Invoice reconciliation;
  • Asset tracking; and
  • E-rate training and staff testing.

The new mobile version includes mobile-optimized search, which lets users look for their E-rate information by funding year and service category acronym.

To access the E-rate Manager mobile version, users will need an account with E-rate Manager.
