Kurzweil 3000 Adds Support for Document Cameras

Teachers using Kurzweil 3000 software have a new way to scan and archive print materials.

Kurzweil 3000 software, designed to help struggling readers, now supports the HoverCam T5 and T5-V document cameras, according to a statement released Tuesday by Kurzweil. Educators can use the high-resolution cameras to scan content for their students.

The T5 and T5-V come with a 5 megapixel HD CMOS digital image sensor, ability to scan documents and images up to 11" x 14", and HoverCam Flex software. The software supports audio and video recording, interactive whiteboard integration, and video conferencing, among other features. The T5-V, designed to support visually-impaired users, also includes Braille mat and OCR software.

HoverCam's Solo 5 camera is slated to launch April 2013. Kurzweil 3000 will also support this document camera. Additional information about the learning software and the cameras is available online.
