Herff Jones/Nystrom has released a new geography reference tool for the Apple iPad. The new app, which debuted at the FETC 2013 conference taking place in Orlando, FL this week, is a free application that offers users a sampling of StrataLogica's interactive layers of geography, history, and earth science content for the K-12 classroom.

The new app will serve as a companion to its Google Earth-powered StrataLogica, an interactive, Web-based site launched in 2009 for use with computers, projectors and interactive whiteboards. Students experience a rich, immersive learning environment across several disciplines via multilayered 3D maps, reference and history maps, atlases and charts, and an educational community that allows instructors to share lesson plans and presentations.

Current users of the desktop Web applications can access and interact with the content they have created and found in the community.

Although the iPad application is free to download, users must sign up to gain access to Stratalogica's communities and other content available on the Web site.

The software requires iOS 6 or later.

Herff Jones/Nystrom is exhibiting in booth 1309 at the FETC conference. Additional product details can be found on Herff Jones/Nystrom StrataLogica site. The StrataLogica app for iPad can be downloaded for free at the Apple App Store.
