Organizations Team up To Help Principals Learn How to Create Digital Learning Environments

Three education organizations are collaborating to deliver training to principals about how to create digital learning environments in their schools. The National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP), Discovery Education and the Johns Hopkins University School of Education will be putting on a "Great Leaders Summit" in July 2014 at Discovery Ed's headquarters in Silver Spring, MD.

The five-day event, from July 20 through July 24, will include interactive sessions intended to help participants learn how to lead school culture change, make better decisions, tap social media for sharing school success stories, examine the future of education technology and learn how to integrate education tech and digital content into curriculum.

"Principals play an incredibly vital role in creating a school culture that supports academic achievement," said Henry Smith, program manager for the Online Educational Leadership Institute at Johns Hopkins. "The Great Leaders Summit will provide an excellent forum in which principals from around the world can gather and expand their knowledge of how to create the authentic learning environments students need for college, careers and citizenship."
